EMU provides three unique opportunities for individuals to pursue Information Assurance/Security studies at the graduate level. At the master’s level, students may incorporate a concentration in Information Assurance/Security within the Master’s of Liberal Studies degree. Three tracks may be pursued: Management and Supervision of Information Assurance operations Computer Forensic Cyber Crime Investigation. At the doctoral level, students may specialize through the Information Assurance Track in the Ph.D. Technology program. This contains a research specialization for those individuals who want to pursue a terminal degree. The Information Security Graduate Certificate, which provides professionals with instruction necessary to participate in a team-based information security or protection program in larger organizations and to initiate and manage programs in smaller organizations. The program is appropriate for professionals with special needs (as for example, those in legal fields, law enforcement, computer training and education, marketing or other fields concerned with information security-related issues and or products and services). The program can also, with appropriate preparatory experiences, serve a general educational role for individuals who want to become better decision makers and more knowledgeable participants/discussant in legislative and ethical issues.

Information Assurance (IA) is about justified confidence in security measures and management processes for protection of valuable information. It emphasises successful integration of security enabling technologies with business procesesses and good management practices. Developed with IA specialists from government, industry and professional bodies, the MSc IA provides knowledge and skills to address a range of IA issues facing 21st century organisations.

UDM's Centre For Cybersecurity and Intelligence Analysis has responded by designing a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Information Assurance in the college of Liberal Arts and Education. This will provide a comprehensive approach to all aspects of the national problems we face with threats against our information and infrastructure. We have bundled together in a single seamless solution, degrees that are designed to prepare both business strategists and technical specialists to protect our critical infrastructure. Along with the traditional Undergraduate program in software construction (CIS), we also provide a concentration in Information Assurance that allows the student to gain entry into the rapidly growing professional field of Information Systems Audit and Security. The concentration complies with the recommendations of the CNSS 4011 national standard for Information Security Professional Education and it grants a certificate approved by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) for that field. In addition, it is possible to obtain a certificate sponsored by the Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) in Sarbanes-Oxley audit. The Masters degree is also offered completely on-line, or earn your Bachelor and Master degree in as little as 5 years.
